Information and Communications Technology
ICT stands for information and Communication Technology. It is a curriculum that all teachers have to follow and it integrates the technology in all areas of study.
As new curriculum is being developed and implemented, the ICT curriculum is integrated into the objectives of the course curriculum. Teachers use a variety of technology to meet these curricular objectives. Our division computer technology is standardized around the Windows OS, Microsoft Office suite, Smart Notebook and Learn Alberta plugin software. Teachers have access to Video streaming into the classroom of videos found on the COAC website. Curriculum related resource materials can be found on Learn Alberta and Tools 4 teachers.
Individual schools have purchased specific software for their sites.
Teachers have the opportunity to videoconference between the division and using the Alberta Education Bridge to sites on or off the Supernet. Video Conference is used as support for curriculum and professional development.
